Horseback Riding

Beautiful scenery, horseback riding trails--a horseback riding vacation in the Arbuckle Mountain area! This is some of the best horseback riding in Oklahoma!

Arbuckle Trail Rides is conducting trail rides in the beautiful Arbuckle Mountains at Turner Falls Park on Thursday through Saturday. The trail rides are 1 to 1 1/2 hours in length and offer great scenery and photo opportunities. Reservations are not always necessary, but to be assured of a ride spot they are recommended. The guided rides leave from the campground above the Falls.

Arbuckle Trail Rides also takes recreational riders out for a half or full day ride on large private ranches in the area. These rides also offer scenery and photo opportunities. You will ride well trained registered Quarter Horses on some of the biggest and most beautiful ranches in Southern Oklahoma. Most of these horses have actually done ranch work and are also for sale. Reservations are needed.

"Lesson rides" are also available to teach riders how to handle and communicate with the horse they are riding. These lessons are conducted out of the trail where managing and handling the horse is much more meaningful. Reservations are needed.

The Chickasaw National Recreation Area has horseback trail riding at the Rock Creek Multiuse Trail. Total trail length is approximately 11 miles. Horses and bikes must stay on the designated marked trail.
